Fire Safety Plans

A Fire Safety Plan is not merely a drawing.

It is a conprehensive planning exercise that is documented and approved to provide the emergency procedures to be followed in case of fire. It must include the appointment and organization of supervisory staff to carry out fire safety duties, as well as the training of other occupants in their responsibilities for fire safety.

The plan must be submitted for approval by the local fire department, and must be reviewed at leat every 12 months. Section 2.8.2.1 of the Fire Code requires that a Fire Safety Plan be prepared, approved and implemented in most buildings. It holds the owner/manager of the building responsible for providing the plan, and responsible if he or she does not comply. Zonetec can help.
