An awareness-level e-learning course designed to introduce property owners to their legal responsibilities under Ontario fire safety legislation. The course outlines the framework established by legislation, and explains how these requirements apply to buildings under an owner’s or manager’s control.
Participants will gain an understanding of key responsibilities, including maintaining Fire Safety Plans, ensuring supervisory staff are trained, supporting occupant instruction, and overseeing inspections, drills, and documentation. The course also highlights the importance of ongoing oversight, recognizing that responsibility for compliance remains with the owner, even when tasks are delegated. In addition, it explores the risks associated with non-compliance, including enforcement actions, liability exposure, and potential impacts on occupant safety.
Delivered in a flexible e-learning format, this course allows learners to complete training at their own pace, from any location, and on their own schedule. Interactive content, visuals, and knowledge checks support engagement and reinforce key concepts, making it easier to understand and retain essential information.
